Elderberry Plants & Cuttings Replacement Policy
At River Hills Harvest we want our customers to be successful growing American elderberries. While we do offer replacements, there are certain planting and maintenance instructions that must be followed to ensure success. We have provided that information in emails, after your purchase and it is available on our website. If your plants arrive and show immediate signs of damage from shipping, please contact us via email at info@riverhillsharvest.com as soon as possible. Otherwise, please continue to read our policies below.
-
Note that replacements for plants are seasonal and based upon when they are ready. We have provided a window of time to submit the replacement forms to ensure you can get on the replacement list that year, and not have to wait another year.
-
While we will do our best to accommodate your replacement needs, we cannot guarantee an exact match of replacement quantities and selections the following year. But we will do OUR BEST to try!
Cuttings Replacement Policy

To ensure a one-time replacement of your elderberry cuttings, they should have been:
-
Planted before the 2nd week in March.
-
Planted outdoors.
-
Planted in the soil.
-
Kept constantly moist.
If you have followed these instructions we will be happy to replace your cuttings the following year. You should begin to see some growth within 4 months of planting your cuttings, if you don’t, proceed with the form.
-
We ask that you notify us for replacements if you haven’t seen any growth after 4 months.
-
Please submit the form before October of the following year to ensure we can get you on that year’s list. Later than October, we may need to wait until the next planting season (the following year) for your replacements to arrive.
Bare Root Replacement Policy

We offer a one-time replacement of bare root plants if they do not show growth the following spring and were kept adequately watered during that year.
-
Please notify us using the form between June and August so we can get you on that year's list. If the form is submitted later than August, we may need to wait until the next planting season (the following year) for your replacements to arrive.
Rooted Cuttings & Small Plants Replacement Policy
We offer a one-time replacement of small, rooted plants/cuttings if you have kept them adequately watered. If you plant in the summer, it is in their nature for any present leaves to die back at times after planting, don't get discouraged though. Keep them watered and contact us if they have not shown signs of growth through the fall.
-
Please notify us using the form between November and March, so we can get you on that year's list. If the form is submitted later than March and you may need to wait until the next planting season (the following year) for your replacements to arrive.
