Spring is upon us and if you haven't already, cleaning and getting your grill ready is on your to-do list! The season for backyard gatherings with friends and family is here. Today, I am going to share with you one of my favorite recipes to make with American elderberry jelly. Elderberry cream cheese dip is fast and easy to make, allowing you more time to focus on enjoying the day. It's very versatile and you can make it your own with the addition of hot peppers and more.

While we love to take our American Elderberry Juice daily for its numerous health benefits, American elderberry is an excellent flavoring too. At River Hills Harvest we use our Premium Elderberry Juice as a flavoring in our jelly, syrup and more. You can find elderberry creamed honey and vinegars on our website, each made with American elderberries as well. In fact, our American Elderberry Jelly was Terry Durham's grandmother's recipe!

American Elderberry Cream Cheese Dip
This delicious cream cheese dip is sure to be a hit at any dinner or gathering! It's simple and only uses a few ingredients.
You'll Need:
A half to full jar of River Hills Harvest American Elderberry Jelly (10oz per jar)
1, 8oz. block of cream cheese
Steps:
Open your block of cream cheese and lay out on a small serving plate.
Stir your elderberry jelly until it's more of a liquid consistency.
Then, drizzle the elderberry jelly over the block of cream cheese.
Serve with a small cheese knife and crackers, pretzels, pita or bread.
Alternative Methods:
Instead of drizzling the jelly over the cream cheese, you can blend them all together and the dip will be a little more easily spreadable.
Make it spicy! Grill or sauté onions, hot peppers and garlic to add on top or stir in with the jelly before serving. Tastes like a hot pepper jelly!

We encourage you to get creative with your cream cheese dips! They're easy and fun. Try another type of jelly that you like, such as blackberry preserves. Make it fruity or spicy with texture by adding in fresh blueberries or chopped jalapenos. For those of you who are artists, transform that block of cream cheese into a fun shape, like a football! The possibilities are never ending and easily customizable. You can even take this Elderberry Cream Cheese dip that's been blended and add as filling in fried wontons.
