There are few things that taste as good as a freshly squeezed juice! We know that firsthand here at River Hills Harvest, where we offer a Premium American Elderberry Juice. Perhaps you've added our elderberry juice to a glass of lemonade or orange juice before? If not, with our American Elderberry Lemonade recipe you're sure to get your first chance!

This recipe is made with our American Elderberry Juice added to lemonade. The hardest part is squeezing the lemons! If you want to cut a corner, buy some pre-made fruit juice and add Elderberry Juice to it. The recipe we are learning today however is a healthier alternative to most store-bought lemonades.
No Added Sugar Recipe
This lemonade recipe is made with American Elderberry Juice and maple syrup. No sugar, except what's naturally in the maple syrup and lemons. Learn more about our elderberry juice by clicking the button below. Each bottle is made with American elderberries grown on farms here in the Midwest. There is zero added sugar, water or alcohol and it's made using a low heat process. The recommended daily serving is 1 tablespoon.

As with all of our recipes, it's pretty open ended. Feel free to add more or less water and sweetener. You can also use other sweeteners, we just like flavorful maple syrup the most around here!
American Elderberry Lemonade
Made with River Hills Harvest American Elderberry Juice
You'll need to make a gallon or so of lemonade:
3-4 cups of fresh lemon juice. This may be around 20 lemons, given their size.
10 cups of water.
1-3 cups of pure maple syrup, depending on your preference.
1/2 to 1 cup River Hills Harvest American Elderberry Juice.
To make:
Stir all ingredients together and serve over ice.
You can make this a day ahead of time or just let chill for an hour if you want as well.
Great in a punch bowl at a party!

Don't want to make it at all? You can order our pre-made American Elderberry Lemonade, made with cane sugar. Ready to chill and drink. It offers a subtle elderberry flavor and mild lemon tartness.

A Healthier Alternative
This American elderberry lemonade recipe is a healthier alternative to sugar filled lemonades available in most markets. We prefer to add more freshly squeezed lemons, less water and not a whole lot of maple syrup compared to the recipe above. That method is more tart and less sweet though. Click the button below to read up on how our American elderberries can be a healthy addition to your diet.
Again, don't hesitate to get creative with this recipe! Add in some freshly squeezed oranges and limes. It can make a beautiful presentation in a punch bowl or tall dispenser. You can add in slices of the fruit and whole fresh herbs as well. Want another treat? Drop a cup of ice cream in the lemonade for an elderberry lemonade float!
Until next time, cheers to your health!
